Dr. Johnson is a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon who considers excellent patient care as central to his practice. He graduated from the
University of Iowa Dental School followed by residencies at
Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital and
Cook County Hospital in Chicago. This training prepared him to provide dental and surgical procedures for all patients including medically complex and special needs patients as well as provided him experience in trauma, neurosurgery, plastic surgery, emergency medicine, and general surgery.
When it comes to patient care, Dr. Johnson has a patient-centered approach, with focus on the patient’s comfort through detailing the procedures and providing ample time for questions and discussion. Dr. Johnson specializes in a wide range of oral and maxillofacial surgery procedures with interest in extractions, third molar surgery, anesthesia, pathology, bone graft reconstruction, and implant surgery. He maintains hospital staff privileges at AMITA Health Medical Centers La Grange and Hinsdale.
Dr. Johnson is a member of several professional groups including the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the
Illinois Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Chicago Oral American Dental Association, Chicago Dental Society, and American Dental Society of Anesthesiology.
In his free time Dr. Johnson likes to spend time with his wife, Sara, and twins, Chloe and Cameron. They all enjoy watching or playing sports such as baseball, basketball, soccer and tennis in addition to exploring museums and visiting local parks and shops.
